Fujifilm X-T200 Long Term Review
The Fujifilm X-T200 was the successor to Fujifilm’s cult favorite, the X-T100 and sported a screen that is still larger, brighter, and sharper than those found on any other camera to date. It was their attempt at coaxing cell phone photographers to buy their first camera by making it as user-friendly as possible. But did it hold up the test of time?

Revisiting the Fujifilm X-T200 in 2024: A Comprehensive Review
Introduction
The Fujifilm X-T200 holds a special place in my heart as it was the first camera I ever reviewed. Despite some early technical issues, it performed well. Today, I’m revisiting this camera to see how it stacks up in a post-lockdown world.
Improved Features
Since its release, the X-T200 has benefited from Fujifilm’s standard autofocus improvements, making it a reliable option for both photography and video.
Performance Over Time
Even in 2024, the X-T200 remains a capable camera. Most cameras from the last five years are still excellent, and the X-T200 is no exception. Whether you're posting to Instagram or TikTok, this camera’s 24-megapixel sensor exceeds the resolution limits of most social media platforms.
A Day in DC
To put the X-T200 to the test, I took it on a photo shoot with my friend Carolyn around the Capitol building in Washington DC. We used various lenses to capture different perspectives, and the results were impressive. The 15-45mm kit lens provided versatility, while other lenses added creative flair.
Lens Versatility and Image Quality
The X-T200’s kit lens, the 15-45mm power zoom, offers decent quality for its plastic build. For more serious photography, pairing the camera with prime lenses like the 33mm f/1.4 and the 50mm f/1.0 can significantly enhance image quality, providing sharp details and beautiful bokeh.
Practical Tips
If you're using the X-T200 for video, consider carrying an ND filter to manage exposure, especially in bright conditions. The camera’s 1080p video quality remains excellent, and its 4K capabilities are solid, although there are some overheating concerns in hot climates.
Final Thoughts
In 2024, the Fujifilm X-T200 continues to be a fantastic choice for both new and experienced photographers. Its blend of simplicity, performance, and affordability makes it a valuable tool. Whether you’re capturing everyday moments or creating professional content, the X-T200 can deliver impressive results.
